Developers at Microsoft seem to be refining select elements of the File Explorer interface in Windows 11. According to reports from Windows Latest, the upcoming modifications include curved edges on the address bar and the search field within File Explorer.

These subtle updates aim to align File Explorer's appearance more closely with other components of the Windows 11 interface, as the revamped search field closely resembles the one found on the taskbar.
The changes were spotted by Windows Insider member phantomofearth during testing of an early build of the software.
Evidence of this styling has surfaced in multiple recent beta releases of Windows 11, though it remains turned off as a standard setting. Microsoft has not yet announced a timeline for deploying the refreshed File Explorer design to all users.
