Fans of Grand Theft Auto VI have faced multiple setbacks in anticipating the title's debut. Originally planned for 2025, it was later confirmed for May 2026. Speculation about further delays has now been substantiated.

In a recent blog update, Rockstar Games revealed that the game's debut has been shifted to November 19, 2026. The statement read: Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026. We regret extending the already prolonged anticipation, but this additional period enables us to deliver the refined quality standards our audience anticipates and merits. We express renewed gratitude for your understanding and enthusiasm. Though the delay extends the wait, we are thrilled for gamers to explore the expansive region of Leonida and revisit a contemporary Vice City.

Take-Two Interactive's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, commented during an interview: Once we establish a timeline, we stand by it firmly. Regarding the previous schedule, we noted that if further refinement is needed to achieve the optimal form, we would allocate extra time accordingly. That's precisely the situation here. We are confident in this new target, which aligns with our fiscal calendar, falls in an advantageous launch period, and we fully endorse Rockstar's strategy.

Upon its eventual release, Grand Theft Auto VI will first be available exclusively for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 systems. A subsequent PC version is widely expected. At the same time, the gaming sector remains cautious about reports suggesting a $100 price tag.
