Raspberry Pi has introduced its branded USB 3.0 flash drive, known as the Raspberry Pi Flash Drive, designed to deliver superior quality and dependable operation compared to numerous budget options available. It comes in capacities of 128GB and 256GB.

The company states that the 128GB variant offers write speeds reaching 75 MB/s, whereas the 256GB version achieves up to 150 MB/s. For balancing speed and reliability, it employs pSLC caching to handle quick write operations in brief sessions, with sustained performance evaluated excluding cache effects. The exterior features a user-friendly aluminum shell, a loop for keychain attachment, and an etched Raspberry Pi emblem.

Raspberry Pi reports extensive testing involving countless simulated sudden power failures and interruptions during active use to confirm data integrity in typical scenarios. Additionally, it includes functionality akin to SSDs for SMART monitoring of device health, support for TRIM optimization, and an idle mode that reduces power consumption when inactive.

The Raspberry Pi Flash Drive can be purchased immediately, priced at $30 for the 128GB capacity and $55 for the 256GB capacity.
