OpenAI revealed in a recent blog update that users can now integrate ChatGPT with a wider array of applications. The company has additionally enabled developers to propose their creations for evaluation, allowing approved ones to join the dedicated app collection within ChatGPT.
The new ChatGPT marketplace becomes available through the Apps icon located in the interface's side panel. Available options are organized under sections such as Featured, Lifestyle, and Productivity. After connecting an application to the AI tool, users can invoke it during chats by entering @ followed by the app's identifier, enabling assistance in tasks including making bookings and placing food orders.
Developers now have the option to connect these ChatGPT-compatible apps to their independent web platforms or services for handling transactions involving tangible items. OpenAI plans to expand this functionality to include acquisitions of virtual goods in the near future.
