Building on the popularity of its surprise Alarmo clock device, Nintendo is diversifying its lineup further. The most recent unveiling is the Talking Flower, an engaging plaything shaped like a verbose blossom.

This gadget functions as a sociable partner, delivering spontaneous remarks a handful of times each hour. An integrated button enables users to elicit replies on command, while pressing and holding it quiets the flower for a short period.

Alongside everyday chatter, the device delivers morning and evening greetings during specified periods, observes the surrounding temperature through its embedded sensor, warns of waning battery levels that call for new ones, and reproduces songs. It handles 11 distinct languages.

The Talking Flower draws inspiration from Super Mario Bros. Wonder, a title that debuted on the Nintendo Switch in October 2023 and is expected on the Nintendo Switch 2 come March 2026.

Scheduled for availability on March 12 via the My Nintendo Store and various merchants, the item carries a $35 price tag.
