Industry observers note that this year we saw a slew of cool fresh PC devices unveiled at Computex 2026, but for my money the most exciting announcements were the debut of fresh tech industry PC handhelds from Asus and MSI.

The report highlights that they look similar, but they have some key differences under the hood you’ll want to know about before you buy one. I’m talking, of course, about the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ and the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X20.

Industry observers note that that’s why PCWorld’s Adam Patrick Murray met up with Russ from Retro Platform release Corps to chat about everything they learned and saw about these two tech industry gadgets at Computex.

The report highlights that i learned that the ROG Ally has an OLED display, while the MSI does not. On the other hand, the MSI will ship with the brand-fresh Intel Arc G3 Extreme chipset. I found their friendly banter really helpful because right now Asus and MSI haven’t made it easy to track down all the specs and other key details about their fresh devices, so having them run through the highlights got me up to speed way faster than skimming through all the articles out of Computex.
