In a fresh development, but the one I picked for my own personal machine is on sale fora downright respectable price — in fact, it’s a newer version with a faster, more efficient processor. Today you can get the Asus Zenbook A14 from Best Buy for just $880 . It’s dang hard to find a decent deal on a laptop in 2026, nevermind one that you’d actually enjoy using.
In a fresh development, the Zenbook A14 is the Asus version of a Macbook Air, weighing in at just 2.4 pounds thanks to some clever construction and Asus’ ceraluminum alloy shell with a smooth finish that feels like a polished river stone. On top of that you get a 14-inch OLED screen and a respectable collection of ports: double USB-C, USB-A for older devices, and full-sized HDMI. With 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and an IR camera for Windows Hello unlock, it’s a wonderful little machine for tossing in a bag and getting work done on the go. I’ve spoken about this design a lot, because I really like it.
In a fresh development, thanks to the Snapdragon processor this thing sips battery power like a dainty duchess sips tea. Even on a work trip I can generally manage more than two days on a full charge. This 2026 version of the laptop has a newer Snadragon X2 Elite processor, which should be both faster and more efficient than mine. The only real downside is that Qualcomm-based laptops can’t play most high-end triple-A PC platform releases (though a few rounds of Hearthstone are well within its capabilities). It also lacks a touchscreen, the better to save battery life, if that matters to you. The best part, at least for me, is the battery life.
According to the latest update, that’s a bit more than I paid for mine…but with laptop prices rising approximately 50 percent in the last year, it’s safe to call this a good deal by today’s standards. If you happen to live near a Best Buy retail store, there’s a good chance you can check it out in person before you buy. Best Buy is offering the Zenbook A14 for $879.99 today, allegedly $470 off its regular price.
