Electronics from graphics cards to compact vehicles increasingly boast AI enhancements, and Logitech's input devices are no exception, with certain models featuring specialized AI keys. However, the company's chief executive expresses skepticism toward standalone AI products like the Rabbit R1 and the Humane Ai Pin, viewing them as lacking genuine purpose.

In a Bloomberg interview, Hanneke Faber described such offerings as 'a solution looking for a problem that doesn’t exist.' This perspective aligns with feedback from critics and initial users, who regarded the Rabbit R1 as essentially a basic smartphone alternative, far inferior to simply using a mobile device with the ChatGPT application. The Humane Ai Pin drew even sharper ridicule due to its limited usefulness, exacerbated by short battery duration and excessive heat from its display projection feature. Both innovations have since faded into obscurity.

Logitech remains engaged with AI developments, offering the M750 Signature AI Edition mouse equipped with a built-in assistant key. Additionally, the firm provides an AI Prompt Builder tool within its comprehensive Logi Options+ software, enabling automated functions across various mid-tier and premium keyboards and mice.

Examining recent releases, it's notable that not all Logitech items emphasize artificial intelligence. Promotional materials for the MX Master 4 mouse and the Alto Keys 98M keyboard make no reference to AI capabilities. The keyboard, designed for seamless use on both Windows and Mac systems, lacks even a dedicated Copilot key. Amid the widespread practice of adding AI labels to products merely for marketing appeal, Logitech's selective approach stands out positively.

Faber indicated that the company has no immediate plans for further price hikes, following significant increases prompted by the first wave of tariffs under the Trump administration. She noted, '…It had to be done and it was better to rip off the proverbial Band-Aid than kind of drag our feet, which some others did.' In early 2025, select Logitech products saw price rises of approximately 25 percent. Nevertheless, surging costs for semiconductors and storage, driven by the expanding AI sector, may exert upward pressure on even budget-friendly items by 2026.
