Google recently revealed through its official Keyword blog that the Gemini AI assistant now features a function called 'import memory' to pull in discussion records from competing AI services, facilitating a smoother transition to Gemini.

Users can bring 'memories' into Gemini using two distinct approaches.

To move over key personal details from a previous AI tool, Gemini offers a ready-made prompt designed to prompt the existing service to compile a concise overview of stored user data.

After obtaining this overview from the prior AI, simply copy it into the designated field in Gemini's import interface. The system will then process the details and retain them for use across all subsequent interactions.

Alternatively, for a complete transfer, export the full conversation archive as a compressed ZIP archive from the source AI, then load it directly into Gemini to pick up where those exchanges left off.

According to Google, these two import features are currently deploying gradually. Access them via the Settings menu within Gemini.
