According to the latest update, this allows you to disable everything related to artificial intelligence with a single click. Mozilla has added a fresh kill switch for AI functions to its Firefox browser.
Industry observers note that you can find the version number in Settings under Help > About Firefox. The kill switch lives in the Settings menu. To access it, click on the three horizontal lines in the top right-hand corner. From there, scroll down and click on AI controls. You’ll see a box called Block AI Enhancements, which is set to Off by default. First, you need version 148 of Firefox installed.
The report highlights that the confirmation window also tells you which functions you’re disabling via the toggle. According to the latest update, for chatbots, you can choose from six different LLMs, including Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot. You can re-enable the AI-powered translations and the chatbot using the drop-down menus under On-Device AI and AI Chatbot Provider in the sidebar.
