At CES this week, Maytronics is unveiling an extended range of Dolphin robotic pool cleaners. The new Dolphin Eon lineup is engineered to function in water depths starting from just 8 inches, enabling it to navigate steps, benches, edges, and gradual-entry inclines to a certain extent. In contrast, standard robotic pool cleaners require full immersion to function effectively, with many bulkier models restricted to areas at least 14 inches deep, which often leaves low-depth zones for manual effort.
The Eon series consists of two variants, each equipped with tracks that link a pair of oversized front wheels to a duo of compact rear wheels, facilitating movement in shallow conditions. The company's JetIQ system enables these devices to climb steps and ascend walls straight up, ensuring thorough cleaning of walls and the water's edge. Powered by rechargeable batteries, the units offer up to 4.5 hours of operation based on the specific model. Users can manage these robots through a mobile application, handling diagnostics, adjustments, and programmed sessions all from indoors.
The base model, Dolphin Eon 100, incorporates every one of these capabilities. The upgraded Dolphin Eon 120d introduces an extra innovation named DebrisLock, a rinse mechanism for the filters that activates while the device is submerged, keeping captured debris like sediment and foliage from being released back into the water.
Designed to access zones shallower than what most robotic cleaners can reach, the Dolphin Eon 120d handles staircases and gradual-access pools effectively.
DebrisLock confines debris within a secure enclosure, which Maytronics claims excels at trapping even tiny contaminants, and it features detectors that identify blockages in the filters, initiating a self-cleaning process automatically. Beyond yielding purer water, this setup minimizes upkeep efforts, particularly the task of emptying filter trays after every use.
Coming later in the year, Maytronics intends to roll out a dual-power feature for the Eon range, permitting operation on battery alone or tethered to an electrical source via a cord.
The suggested retail price for the Dolphin Eon 100 stands at $899, and the Dolphin Eon 120d at $1,199. Both are open for orders immediately, with deliveries commencing by late January, and they will appear in retail outlets from February onward. Each comes with a three-year guarantee.
