Following user feedback, Dell has brought back its XPS laptop line at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, reversing the 2025 decision to streamline its portfolio by eliminating the brand along with others. The new XPS 14 and XPS 16 models feature a lightweight and refined build using aluminum and Gorilla Glass, delivering the premium finish associated with the series.
The updated design emphasizes the XPS aesthetic with a more streamlined minimalist look compared to earlier versions, highlighted by a prominent XPS logo on the lid for enhanced brand visibility.
These devices incorporate Intel's latest Core Ultra Series 3 processors paired with Intel Arc graphics, offering up to 78 percent improved speed in AI workloads and over 50 percent gains in graphical performance relative to prior generations. Battery endurance has seen a significant boost, with the LCD variant providing up to 27 hours for typical tasks or more than 40 hours for offline video viewing, according to Dell.
Despite their advanced capabilities, the laptops remain remarkably portable: the XPS 14 tips the scales at three pounds, while the XPS 16 measures about 3.6 pounds, marking them as the slimmest in the XPS lineup to date.
Display choices cater to various preferences, including a 2880×1800 OLED panel utilizing Dell's tandem technology for superior visuals or a 2560×1400 LCD option for better energy efficiency. Each features InfinityEdge bezels and a variable refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz, ensuring sharp imagery and smooth handling of multiple applications.
Dell intends to launch an all-new XPS 13 toward the end of 2026, which will be more compact, easier to carry, and positioned at a lower price point than its predecessors.
The XPS 14 and XPS 16 will hit the market on January 6, 2026, with starting prices of approximately $1,650 and $1,850 respectively, and additional configurations slated for February.
