Microsoft recently revealed that users subscribed to Microsoft 365 and equipped with qualifying Copilot+ PCs can now utilize an innovative capability: the generation of automatic descriptions, known as alt texts, within Word and PowerPoint applications.
Upon inserting a picture into a document in either Word or PowerPoint, the Copilot+ system is designed to produce a description automatically. Users have the option to accept this description as is or modify it before finalizing. Additionally, the tool can create descriptions for any existing images already present in documents.
This auto-captioning functionality is accessible to premium Microsoft 365 users running version 2512 (Build 19530.20006). Note that it demands a neural processing unit in the Copilot+ device capable of delivering at least 40 TOPS of performance.
