Anthropic, the developer behind the AI chatbot Claude, has enhanced its no-cost tier by incorporating capabilities once limited to subscribers, according to Engadget. Non-paying users are now able to generate and modify documents such as Microsoft Word files, Excel sheets, PowerPoint slides, and PDF files straight from the Claude interface.

Furthermore, non-subscribers gain entry to Connectors, enabling integration of Claude with third-party platforms including Canva, Slack, Notion, Zapier, and PayPal. Access to the Skills functionality is extended to free accounts as well, permitting individuals to train the AI on routine operations based on set guidelines.

Among the enhancements to Claude are extended dialogue sessions, enhanced engagement in replies, and better capabilities for voice and visual queries.

The timing of this update positions Claude to stand out more prominently against rivals. Just lately, OpenAI introduced advertisements into the gratis edition of ChatGPT, leading to Anthropic's assurance against such intrusions, which in turn drew a sharp rebuttal from OpenAI's chief executive.
