Asus has launched a new gaming headset called the ROG Kithara, designed specifically to appeal to audio purists. This wired model incorporates customized 100mm planar magnetic drivers sourced from HiFiMan, delivering an expansive frequency response from 8Hz up to 55kHz while minimizing distortion levels. Such advanced components are typically found only in premium headphones geared toward audiophiles.

Paired with an open-back enclosure, these drivers aim to produce a spacious and authentic audio environment, ensuring clear distinction among low-end, mid-range, and high-frequency sounds.

The ROG Kithara features a removable MEMS microphone that covers the full audio spectrum for clear voice chats, along with a flexible cabling setup offering swappable plugs—including a 4.4mm balanced option, 3.5mm, and 6.3mm—supplemented by a USB-C dongle. This versatility allows seamless integration with desktop computers, video game systems, digital-to-analog converters, and smartphones alike.

The Asus ROG Kithara, a wired gaming headset optimized for audiophiles, is now on sale in the United States for $299.99.
